1888 - In Cermenate, province of Como, Mr and Mrs Verga started producing lemonades. This drink soon conquered the appellation of “ul sciampagn de la balèta” – the champagne of the little ball – for its particular bottle cap with a little glass ball.
1922 Antonio Verga moved to Caslino al Piano (natural oasis near the Como Lake and he starts producing this tasty drink with the brand "SPUMADOR", soon winning the immediate consumer liking.
1938 Antonio Verga creates the "SPUMADOR CLASSICA", an original drink made up with a combination of over ten different officinal herbs and still known today as "SPUMADOR 1938" or simply "SPUMA NERA". During the years, the drink range has enriched of new products to meet the changing taste of the consumers, but still today, many of the flavours are made by aromatic herbs infusions, produced in the company’s SALA ESSENZE.
End ‘30: during these years, with the first advertisement on the Larian walls, on the buses’ back, and on the trams of Milano, the image of the incomparable Spuma: a glass mug full of frothy of the 1938, starts spreading out.
1966 The Spumador group enters also the mineral waters market with the presentation of the S. Antonio brand, and becoming a leading company of this sector. Thanks to the water qualities, to the packaging attention and to the solid commercial network, the S. Antonio brand, with its glass line, is a leader in the “door-to-door” service and in the catering and bar channels. With its elegant and practical PET line, it is present in the big retail chain and in the organized retail distribution, reaching a bigger number of consumers.
2005 The US investment fund LBMB, with a stock share of 76% enters the company. The conventional and continuity elements are guaranteed both by the holding of the stock share of 24% of the two historical Spumador families: the Verga and the Colombo ones and by the keeping of the same management.
2008 Spumador celebrates 120 years!
